The Lincoln Park Social Development Commission is a cross-sector collective of leaders, neighbors, and service providers that supports the City of Lincoln Park in enhancing residents’ overall well-being. We provide perspectives, tools, and connections to strengthen outreach to diverse communities, identify local needs and assets, and foster collaboration across sectors.
Equity - We support the City of Lincoln Park in enhancing residents’ overall well-being.
Innovation - We explore how municipal governments and community partners can shape a high quality of life for all who call Lincoln Park home.
Diversity - We welcome individuals from all backgrounds to contribute to our efforts and embrace the diversity of the Lincoln Park community.
Collective Effort - We embrace collective impact.
Accountability - We work alongside community members and the City to identify shared priorities, collaborate on projects, and uphold transparency in our work.
Sense of Belonging - We create opportunities where all residents feel welcomed, valued, and connected to the Lincoln Park community
The purpose of the Commission is to develop a community program that will connect resources to community residents and provide informed, community-driven insight on matters related to social equity, access to services, and neighborhood well-being. As a volunteer collective of local leaders, residents, and service providers, the Commission plays a role in identifying challenges, proposing solutions, and informing city policies that impact the social and economic fabric of the community.
Our goals include identifying and measuring key well-being indicators (such as physical/mental health, poverty, food security, and transportation access), engaging in cross-sector collaboration to strengthen relationships across the city, reporting our findings and recommendations with the community, and promoting awareness of community services.
